George Compton

My name is George.  In August 2015 I received a life-saving double lung transplant after waiting 11 months and being just days away from dying.  I have Cystic Fibrosis which caused my lungs to deteriorate during a lifetime of chest infections, leaving me oxygen and wheelchair dependent - hence the need for a transplant.  My life has since been transformed and I feel like a very lucky lady to be here today.  I am passionate about organ donation and honoured to be part of such an amazing charity to promote organ donation.  I want to help spread awareness; through my experience and others' stories I want to encourage people to think about it, talk about it and sign up to the donor register.
