Three years before I was born my father received a single lung transplant at Harefield Hospital after a long struggle with sarcoidosis.  The infection had spread to both lungs and caused them to collapse; only one could be successfully transplanted.  He was told that he couldn’t have children - but miracles happen and I was born in 1991!  I grew up caring for him with my mother; he passed away in 2000.

Since then I have tried to spread awareness about organ donation.  Without the donor and transplant I simply wouldn’t exist.

Donors give new life - not just to the recipients, but new generations too.
